It was Sylvia’s maid of honor, Katie, who first pointed Stephen out to her friend on the day of their high school graduation. And while they immediately clicked that first day, the couple didn’t begin dating until a chance encounter at the hair salon during a college break. The rest, as Sylvia would say, is history.
Sylvia and Stephen have a beautiful little girl and have made a beautiful life together here in New York. Getting married is just icing on the cake, a reaffirmation of their love and commitment to each other and their daughter. Sylvia and Stephen talked about getting married and Stephen knew he really wanted to propose soon but before he had the ring he saw a contest that the Hudson Terrace was having. It was Hudson Terrace’s first ever win a wedding contest. They wanted a great love story, an even better video and lots of facebook likes. Luckily Stephen and Sylvia have the romance movie love story and he was able to rally enough votes to win! Who said all those facebook “friends” never came in handy? Stephen had the wedding, now he had to get Sylvia to say Yes!
Their non-traditional love story: boy meets girl, they fall in love, have a kid, move to New York, have the wedding planned out, ask the girl, she says yes, he says “oh by the way I already have the wedding “, Sylvia has fun enjoys planning the rest of the wedding and they have a fabulous wedding day with friends and family.
We started their day at Ink48 and ventured to the meatpacking district for pre-ceremony photos with the bridal party. With a view of the Hudson River and the Intrepid in the background, their ceremony was an intimate one, full of love and humor.

As part of the ceremony, the couple lit a unity candle with their daughter.
It is a Polish tradition to take 2 shots of vodka, toasting for good health and happiness. Sylvia’s mom did the honors:

I have three girls their ages are 11, 9, and 4. Although, i am not with their father, i have met and mraired a wonderful man, and we have been mraired two years.
