New York Same-Sex Wedding on the Upper West Side

Jim and Steve’s intimate wedding ceremony at their best friend Monty’s home and reception at Henry’s Restaurant was a festive and joyous one.  Jim, an architect and writer, and Steve, a pianist, met at a New Year’s Eve party thrown by Monty in 1996.  They hit it off immediately.  Among many other things, they are bonded by Steve’s music, a love of cooking together, and loyalty to Henry Rinehart, the owner of their reception site, Henry’s Restaurant.  I love when couples create a personal and intimate wedding that reflects who they are. They chose the spot where it all began for their ceremony, Steve played for Jim, Steve’s students sang songs reminiscent of their relationship and even their Tony award winning composer friend wrote a special song just for them. Here’s a look at images from their special day:

Check out those spiffy-looking socks!
