Does your registry reflect who you really are?

I know most of you are either knee deep in planning your wedding or breathing a sigh of relief that it is finally over. However one task you are all dealing with; is that dreadful registry. Either you are happily tagging everything you can in the store or sifting through all the gifts you wanted, did not want or really do not need. Now there is an alternative. Newlywish!

Newlywish is  “comprised of a vibrant array of brands, stores and service providers, available through a single, online portal, so that engaged couples can use their full imaginations in selecting gifts” Let’s face it, we live in New York and love all the chic boutiques and want the unique finds that are available here. Our wedding is a reflection of who we are and our lifestyle, shouldn’t our registry be too?

A great tip from Newlywish: have a plan and really think about what fits best for You. A feature I found really fun and helpful is their “Wedding-to-Home” features  that “take cues from your wedding design and use your registry to create an at-home style that you love”.

To have a little fun on this wintery cold day. I thought about my own wedding, the things I would have registered for and how they reflect each other. I advise trying it out yourself. It is pretty fun and a little break from the wedding planning. Plus it involves Pinterest and who does not love Pinterest.

So here is where I was married, Cuba Libre restaurant in Philadelphia.

Here is my Pinterest board of things I would register for at Newlywish that reflects our wedding and lifestyle.

How many of you did not really “need” anything but registered for a bunch of stuff anyway? What would your registry look like if you had access to chic boutiques and experiences and really made it personal?  Please share your boards if you try this fun little exercise, I am dying to see them.
