Wedding Tip: Walk down the aisle with glowing skin

As  a wedding photographer, I always encourage brides to have a professional make-up artist because they know how to make you look great for photographs which is different from every day life. However, they can only work with the canvas they have. Below you will find some great skin tips for having glowing skin on your wedding day. These tips come from Jamie, the owner of Carson Skin Rejuvenation, my esthetician and resident skin expert. Having healthy, glowing skin makes for great photos. The make-up artist can then enhance your features instead of having to cover-up the imperfections. With glowing, healthy skin and a great make-up artist, you end up looking your best for photos.. As photographers say, let’s get it right in camera.

These tips work great for all the parties you will be having over the next year, too.

3 Weeks Before:
-Receive a professional facial. This will ensure that your pores are cleanand your skin is smooth and bright by the time you are ready to walk down the aisle. *The benefit to going to someone like Carson Skin Rejuvenation- she personalizes your facial to your skin and various unique needs. Even grooms can benefit from a facial especially if they have rosacea or prone to breakouts.”

2 Weeks Before:
Get Hydrated
-Begin drinking 1/2 of your body’s weight in ounces of water daily and add lemon slices to at least half of those glasses. This healthy new daily habit will flush toxins from your body and leave your skin luminous and clear.

1 Week Before:
Polish Up!
-Use a facial polishing scrub to remove any built up dead skin cells. I love Bioelements Pumice Peel! It leaves the skin smooth and silky. Apply the facial scrub to dry skin and GENTLY massage the scrub into your skin using little circular motions for 1 to 2 minutes, rinse then follow with moisturizer. You may be a little pink after exfoliating so I recommend following this routine at night before bed.

The Morning Of Your Wedding:
-Use a Hydrating Gel Masque and leave on for 20 minutes before applying makeup. This will quench your skin’s thirst and provide a natural glow to your skin. A favorite of mine and many brides I have worked with over the years is Bioelements Gel Therapy. It restores your glow without any irritation and leaves the skin luminous.

Pro Tip: Cleanse your skin, pat dry with a soft, clean towel, apply your Hydrating Masque, leave on for 15 to 20 minutes, rinse clean with warm water, apply your moisturizer and eye creme and enjoy the glow.
