Beautiful Blooms did amazing bouquets in pinks and jewel tones. I especially loved the 3 different centerpieces they did. Tall and organic with branches, flowers and candles, loose and earthy with long flowerbeds and then medium height with bouquets of various tones in different vases. I’m sure the photos are better than my description. I also loved that they used tables of varying sizes, which helped add visual interest on the ground. The Franklin Institute has an elegant marble foyer, with large pillars, archways and Ben himself presiding. All the architecture brings your eyes up, so the tables really helped you be excited about your eye level view.

Wedding Paper Divas again with placecards and table numbers. Beautiful watercolors that match everything so well. These elements are often forgotten but this is where you can tie everything together and share your personality. Even though they live in the city, they much prefer flowers and trees and pretty things.

They chose to donate to PAWS instead of favors. This is a way to do something meaningful on your wedding day and add more personal touches. I mean really, what do you do with that little favor anyway. I’d rather help a dog than eat a chocolate and gain weight.

The thing I love about the Institute besides it’s amazing grand foyer is that guests can actually go into the exhibits and have fun. How often do you go to the science museum without a kid? Here is your chance!

City Rhythm Orchestra provided the music! They kept it rocking and swinging all night long.

Morgan and Nick, the ones whose GTKY session was in Elfreth’s Alley, were married a few weeks back at The Franklin Institute. Beautiful, Beautiful wedding. Elegant, chic, sophisticated, fun and full of great moments. Their ceremony was at St. Old Joe’s right near Independence Hall. A beautiful old church with a cobblestone courtyard and tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Olde City / Society Hill. We then ventured into the gardens right behind the First Bank Building. Really pretty grass and trees with old buildings peaking through. A nice little nature hideaway, just make sure you get a photo permit if you are doing wedding photos there.

Morgan looked stunning in her Ramona Keveza gown. Classic and simple but perfect. Nick looked handsome in Roberto Cavalli. The girls wore flattering light purple dresses from JCrew.

Beautiful Blooms did the flowers. I love this deep purple flower ball for the flower girl. Her dress is to die for, too.

The paper goods were done by Wedding Paper Divas.

Petals Lane did a beautiful assortment of spring flowers for the bouquets.

Their favor were dog tags with their names and dates on them

Rachel has a little boy who was the ringbearer. Even though today was her day and she was a bride, she is also a mom. Sometimes duty calls.

Rachel looked stunning and her dress was perfect. I love this image.

Rachel and TJ are wonderful for each other. The beautiful things their friends said about loyalty, devotion, friendship and love was very endearing. All of their friends had a really good time.

Feastivities did stations which works great for Cairnwood because of all the different rooms in the estate. The stations allowed for everyone to move around and mingle. It really allowed for people to laugh and have fun in a casual yet elegant atmosphere.

An army tank cake for the groom, complete with little army guys!

Of course, the dance floor was hopping all night. With friends that are dancers, you know you have to have good music. Rachel choreographed their first dance and even dad broke out into a routine for the father-daughter dance.

For me this was a really fun wedding. Partly because I got to see old friends and mostly because I could feel all the love all day.

I really like Lisa and Mick. They are such an easy-going couple. Mick can talk a dog off a meat truck so there was no shortage of things to say. Their families and friends had a really great time at the wedding. People let loose and enjoyed themselves. It also helps that Lisa and Mick won $12,000 betting on the Kentucky Derby!

I love these little ring dishes. She used the same color blue ribbon as the girls dresses. That is an amazing blue!

Sooo, cute! All the bridesmaids got one of these cute purses from Lisa as their thank you gift!

Lisa looks stunning! I loved how she was looking down to make sure everything was laying perfectly.

Tony got this great photo of Lisa’s dad right before they walked down the aisle. He looks so pensive and trying not to lose it.

The priest had a pretty funny homily. He asked how many people were married and what things they have learned over the years. A way to share wisdom with the new couple. I think he told Mick he just needed to do everything Lisa said and he would be fine.

I love trying to capture the parents during the ceremony. Here her dad looks so happy through his tears. I know my own husband will feel like this when our daughter gets married. Mick seems to be a really great guy and Lisa’s dad knows it.

The priest told them to join their right hands. Mick wasn’t sure which hand was his right and gave a thumbs up when he figured it out.

Taking a moment after the ceremony to enjoy the peace and quiet and alone time.

I said to them “Do you want to go to cocktail hour or get ice cream?” Well you can see where their priorities landed! These are some of my favorite photos of them. The ice cream was so refreshing on this super hot day.

Finding out they won $12,000!! Their friend came out of the bar says, “We just won $100,000.00!” Mick says “yeah ok let’s get to the reception dude” Friend: “No really we won $100,000.00. Our horse won! Your cut is $12,000.!” Lisa’s dad, brother and Mick’s brother also won a cut of the money. Talk about an awesome wedding present. Their friend announces at the track knows a lot about horses so he put the bet in for them. Here is their reaction

Mick’s brother is a jokester and he was saying such nice things to his brother about how great they are and then makes some comment that just made everyone crack up

This is Lisa’s brother having an awesome time. He was such a ham. He had everyone on the dance floor. In many ways these moments are bitter sweet because when I met Lisa she was prepping to give her brother a kidney. Yes, this brother dancing and acting crazy had been really sick for a long time. Luckily Lisa was a match and he is doing great. I am so happy , I was able to give her family these photos of her brother.
