New York wedding at Stage 6 Steiner Studios in Brooklyn

Classic elegance with a little old hollywood glam was how Jess and Andrew described their wedding at Stage 6- Steiner Studios. You may remember Jess and Andrew’s Get to Know You session in Central Park and their fab story in the New York Times. Here is a little recap- Jess and Andrew had mutual friends and showed up at the same birthday party at a little bar called Gstaad. As it happens they talked for hours and as Andrew walked Jess home he planned on working up the courage to ask for a date. However, Jess only lived 2 doors down. So, without much time, Andrew fumbled a non-committal question, “Can I call you?” That call took over a week and Jess almost said, “no” She did think he was cute, loved talking with him and decided to overlook his delay. A few foiled attempts and they finally were on a date that turned into a trip to Italy and more dates and more trips and then a marriage proposal a few years later.

Jess said she chose Stage 6 because of the views of Manhattan, the open floor plan and the floor to ceiling windows. She decided to incorporate fave landmarks in NYC into the invites and they used date spots for the table numbers. Jess envisioned classic elegance and went very simple with white flowers, classic black bridesmaid dresses and tuxes. Their main goal was that everyone had a great time and they were able to cherish every minute of it.

Jimmy Choo’s, New York Gift Bags, pigeons in the park, the Manhattan skyline, Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty. Can’t get more New York than that.

This handkerchief has been passed down through Andrew’s family. It was given to his mom from her grandmother and then every bride since then carries it down the aisle and their names and wedding date are placed in the box. It was touching to see all the names and the dates starting from 1967.

My fave photo from the whole day! It just sums up everything they were feeling that day. All the nervous energy finally released and just the genuine happiness at the realization that they are now married.

Jewish Wedding at the Horticultural Center: Maureen and Brian Part 3 The Reception

As I mentioned before, Maureen and Brian know how to have fun. As you can see, everyone was out on the dance floor, cheering the couple and dancing to the tunes of Carnivale. They also have a great love for each other and their friends and family. Maureen’s sister and brother gave a heartfelt speech by showing a slideshow and story of their two lives growing up and lives together. It was very moving. Maureen and Brian’s moonlight, jewish ceremony at the Fairmount Horticultural Center was beautiful and intimate. A chuppah with a few spotlights and hanging candles kept the mood simple, elegant and romantic. These were the great people I worked with to make this wedding a reality.

Maureen and Brian are two people who know how to have fun, especially with each other. They say you can tell a lot about a person by how others feel about them. Well, everyone was glowing all day. They were excited, giddy and ready to celebrate with Maureen and Brian. The energy in the room when Maureen was getting ready was so festive. Her best friend since childhood came all the way from Israel to be with her. He even brought his parents.

You have to see Maureen and Brian; stunning, handsome and so in love. A special thank you to Amanda of Swoon Over it Photography for being my second shooter.

Featured Real Wedding on The Knot

The Knot Real Weddings is featuring Jennifer and Andrew who were married at the Lake House Inn in Perkasie, PA, last September. They have a great little story about how they met. Jennifer and Andrew met on a dating site and fell in love. He proposed to her with a gummy frog ring which she had given to him as a gag gift early on. Jennifer and Andrew had a really beautiful, traditional Jewish wedding. The details were gorgeous, the chuppah was handmade and the reception was one huge party. Check out the article on the knot!
