New York Magazine Wedding Event: Kate Spade

A few months ago, I had the privilege of being the official press photographer for Merci New York for the New York Magazine Wedding Event. Getting to see all the new trends, accessories, designers, and meet all the fab industry professionals that showcase was exciting. One big showing was Kate Spade: who is doing weddings now! I have to say I love all the new stuff that Kate Spade has been doing these days. The company has been getting very hip and stylish but still has classic elements. Their new wedding line is perfect for the New York City bride, especially ones that are doing very chic, intimate weddings or running down to City Hall to get hitched. I love the bold colors and short simple dresses. I can’t decide if my fave shoes are the ivory with the sparkly heel or the gold sparkle ballet flats. I know my 6 year old would choose both!

The past 2 (1,2) days you have seen Cindy and Brent’s gorgeous wedding designed by Lindsay Landman Events and team. Today I share with you, the heartfelt trailer for their wedding by 15 Minutes of Frames. I love films and seeing all the moments in between the moments. I believe wedding films are very complimentary to photography and you have a complete story when you have both. You have the sights AND sounds. Listen carefully to Cindy’s dad’s toast. It was really beautiful and definitely words to live by.

New York Wedding photographer Sofia Negron and Lindsay Landman Events: Cindy and Brent part 2

Here is Part 2 of Cindy and Brent’s wedding. You can view part 1 here. As I mentioned, Cindy and Brent had a beautiful ceremony on the stage of the Scranton Cultural Center. Behind the stage is a gorgeous 2 tiered ballroom where guests enjoyed cocktails and the reception. The Scranton Cultural Center did all the lighting under Lindsay’s art direction. When planning the reception, Lindsay Landman Events was given a lot of freedom with her design. You have to love clients who trust their wedding partners. This wedding was truly a collaboration and lots of trust was given to all of us to do what we do best. Thank you to Cindy, Brent and their families for trusting all of us.

Cindy asked Lindsay to incorporate color and make the venue warm on a cold winter’s night. Cindy’s mom asked for the “WOW” factor . They both wanted formal elegance with a contemporary feel. This is exactly what Lindsay does best. Lindsay incorporated tall centerpieces to give the wow and compliment the tall ceilings. She used plexiglass with mixed floral arrangements to add a contemporary look and reflect the candlelight. Hundreds of candles were used to give the warm, glowy feel Cindy was after. Lindsay also added arched branches, dotted with hand wired crystals, on the tall centerpieces for some drama and to achieve the additional height that Cindy’s mom was looking for. Each place setting had gold rimmed plates with a circle menu crafted by Invitations by Ana. Ana also did the table numbers, elegantly framed in gold frames.

Lindsay designed the escort card table with mirrors, candles and flowering branches. Deep purple escort cards were made by Michael Weinstein of MJW Calligraphy. As people entered, they were greeted by a frame of glowing candles followed by a table full of candles and a custom designed guestbook with photos from Cindy and Brent’s Get to Know You session. Lindsay custom designed the couples monogram that was projected on the dance floor and placed on the napkins and favors. Lots of yummy food was provided by The Epicurean Delight. The flowers on the cake were exquisitely made by Sugar Flower Cake Shop . Guests danced all night to the Russ Bennett Orchestra of Hank Lane Music. At the end of the night, macarons made by the Macaron Café in NYC in LLE specially designed packages.

New York Wedding photographer Sofia Negron and Lindsay Landman Events: Cindy and Brent part 1

My first wedding of the season was a gorgeous event. How could it not be? Cindy and Brent were a dream to work with. Their family and friends were super excited for them and the day was filled with love, laughs, good food and good entertainment. Lindsay Landman Events did all the beautiful event design from invitations to linens to flowers to dessert table. She used a gorgeous purple palette, short and tall centerpieces, round and rectangular tables and candles to bring the Scranton Cultural Center to life. The Scranton Cultural Center is where all the broadway touring companies go when they visit the Scranton area. The center used to be a masonic temple and has some really gorgeous architecture.

Jackie from Merci New York did the bridal and mother of the bride styling. Cindy looked gorgeous with a beautiful Vera Wang gown, Kate Spade shoes, hair accessories from Untamed Petals and the wedding band of her great great grandmother. The bible she carried in her bouquet has been passed down from several generations.

The ketubah signing was an intimate ceremony between close family and friends and held in the beautiful old library. The wedding ceremony was held under a custom chuppah with hanging candles on the stage with the guests seated as audience members. Cindy was super excited to be on the stage, since she is such a performer at heart.

New York Wedding Photographer at Chelsea Piers Lighthouse – Emily and Ricky – The details

The final installment of Emily and Ricky’s wedding! They had so many gorgeous details, I figured they deserved their own post. Again, Allison Gaetano did a wonderful job collaborating with Emily and Ricky to find details that spoke to them and reflected who they are.

Ricky’s grandmother made this purse. She made one for all the brothers and when they were small they chose which one they liked best and the purse was saved for when the boys got married. This is the one Ricky chose and it was given to Emily for the wedding.
